The search and recovery course in Malta is a training designed for certified divers who want to learn how to locate and recover objects underwater in a technical, safe and planned way.

The SSI Search and Recovery specialty introduces structured procedures for planning and executing underwater searches, applied in 2 practical dives in the sea under direct supervision.

At the end of the course you will obtain the official SSI Search and Recovery Specialty certification.

What will you learn in the SSI Search and Recovery course?

During the 2 practical dives you will apply structured techniques for locating and recovering objects underwater, developing planning, control and coordination in a real environment.

You will learn to execute circular, grid and reference patterns, adapting them to visibility, depth and environmental conditions.

You will work on underwater coordination, maintaining reference, line tension and effective communication during the search.

You will practice the secure attachment of the object and the controlled use of the lift bag to perform stable and safe ascents.

You will apply pre-dive protocols, environmental assessment and ascent management to complete the recovery safely.
