Take the plunge into the first professional level of diving and start guiding certified divers
Become a guide for certified divers and access the first professional level of diving with the Divemaster course in Malta.
Develop leadership, technical judgment, and management skills in real dives, assisting in training programs and participating in the operation of a dive center.
A demanding training program designed for those who want to start their career in the scuba diving industry.
The Divemaster course is the first professional level within recreational diving. A training that marks the transition from advanced diver to a professional trained to guide dives and assist in training programs.
It is aimed at experienced divers who wish to take on greater responsibility underwater and begin their journey in the world of scuba diving, with the possibility of continuing their training and advancing to the level of diving instructor.
As a Divemaster you will be able to lead certified divers, plan dives and actively collaborate in the operation of a dive center, assuming real responsibilities under professional supervision.
At Scuba Malta you can complete your Divemaster training with SSI or PADI certification. In both cases, the professional level obtained is equivalent and allows you to access the first professional level of diving, work in authorized centers and later continue towards Instructor.
The difference is not in the level, but in the type of market in which you want to operate. If you have any questions, ask us and we will advise you.
Divemaster SSI is the best option if you already come from the SSI system or if you plan to work in European centers integrated within this network.
Recommended to continue with the SSI certification or focus on the European market.
The PADI Divemaster program is the one with the most presence in resorts and international tourist destinations, especially outside of Europe.
Especially recommended if your previous certification is PADI or if you are looking for international mobility in tourist destinations.
Once you have chosen the certification (SSI or PADI), you can complete your Divemaster training in an intensive course format or in an extended internship mode, depending on your availability and professional goals.
Ideal if your priority is to obtain professional certification.
Ideal if you are looking for real operational experience before working.
Divemaster training combines advanced theoretical study, practical open water training, and real experience in the operation of a diving center. The goal is to develop professional judgment, leadership, and underwater safety.
Access the official digital platform of SSI or PADI for the study of physics, physiology, decompression theory, marine environment, and equipment. Includes the contents of Science of Diving. The theoretical training is completed with official assessments and a final exam in accordance with the professional standards of SSI or PADI.
You will make multiple open water dives assuming the role of guide under supervision. You will learn to dive, conduct professional briefings, manage groups, control consumption, and apply safety protocols in real scenarios.
You will participate in real activities of the diving center, assisting instructors in courses, organizing dives, and collaborating in daily operational management.
Get an international certification and work in dive centers around the world.
Our Divemaster program includes everything you need so you can focus on your professional training, with direct supervision and real experience in the water.

Access to the official digital platform, training materials and assessments in accordance with the standards of the chosen certifying agency.

I couldn’t recommend them enough, Mireia and her team were great!! 🤿 Héctor SAIZTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Alina IvlevaTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Excellent diving. Great customer service. Reliable equipment. Great location with easy access by public transport. We had 2 dives at um el Faroud wreck. Visibility was great, excellent guide with safe swim across the inside of the wreck. Highly recommend this place for your dives. Alistair EvansTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I booked a short trip to Malta for diving, and Scuba Malta was absolutely the right choice of dive centre to choose. Enol runs a well organised dive shop, his communication is great and was a very good guide on our shore and wreck dives. Iris, Bruno and Stephanie were trainee dive masters who dived with us over the three days and they were very good divers in the water and very helpful at the dive sites too. I'd thoroughly recommend diving with this shop, it will be worth every euro. Fiona KinghornTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Christian WirthTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. A GTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Amazing first time diving experience. The instructors were very friendly and professional. I would highly recommend!

It depends on the path you choose and your dive experience. Go hard with the intensive course, or get real experience with our internship, diving deep into the center’s vibe. Either way, you’ve gotta nail those official requirements to get certified.
Yep! You need 40 dives minimum to jump in. But to snag that Divemaster certification, you’ll need 60 dives logged. Let’s get you there!
Nope. You can be a total rockstar Divemaster guiding certified divers and crushing it as a course assistant. But if you’re hungry to run full courses and certify divers yourself, then yeah, Instructor course is next level.
Hell yeah! SSI and PADI Divemaster certs are gold worldwide. Open doors to dive jobs in the most epic spots on the planet.
Not at all. You can rock our gear during the program. But real talk? Most pros get their own setup as they level up their careers. It’s a game changer.
Divemasters are the ultimate guides, leading certified divers and being total legends assisting on courses. Instructors? They’re the gurus, teaching full programs and making new divers. Divemaster is your first pro step, Instructor is when you’re truly calling the shots in the dive world.
