The SSI Advanced Wreck Diver course is designed for experienced divers who want to perfect their penetration planning, master the advanced use of guide lines, and consolidate their buoyancy control within the light zone in overhead environments.

What is Open Water?

The SSI Advanced Wreck Diver specialty is the next level after Wreck certification, designed for divers who want to delve into more complex penetrations within the light zone and master the advanced use of guide lines.

The course focuses on overhead environment management, detailed dive planning, and technical buoyancy control in enclosed spaces.

What will you learn during the Advanced Wreck course?

During the 4 supervised dives, you will apply advanced wreck penetration techniques, perfecting your planning and control in overhead environments within the light zone.

You will learn to design more complex penetrations, define reference points, and establish a safe entry and exit in overhead environments.

You will perfect the placement, management, and recovery of lines in more demanding penetrations, always maintaining a physical reference to the outside.

You will improve your trim, stability, and precision in narrower structures, minimizing sediment and preserving visibility.

You will develop a greater capacity to evaluate conditions, limits, and specific protocols for overhead wreck diving.

You NEED prior certification in Wrecks (Wreck Diver) or a recognized equivalent, plus serious experience and killer buoyancy control.

This course packs in 4 mind-blowing supervised dives over 2 days, laser-focused on penetration techniques and overhead environment mastery.

We’re talking more complex penetrations than the basic level, always within the light zone, and always following hardcore overhead diving safety protocols.

Hell no! SSI Advanced Wreck Diver is still an advanced recreational specialty. No need for technical configurations or decompression profiles here.

Nope. We use standard recreational gear. We’ll break out the specialized penetration tools – guide line, reel – during training.

Wreck Diver gets you started with wreck diving and basic recreational penetrations. Advanced Wreck Diver is where you dive deep into structured planning, advanced guide line skills, and staying in control in more challenging overhead environments.

We roll in small, tight groups – max 4 divers. This guarantees your safety, close supervision, and gets you the most out of every single dive.
