SSI Advanced Open Water Course in Malta

Become an advanced diver in just 2 days with the SSI Advanced Open Water Diver course.

You’ll complete 5 specialty dives in the open sea and perfect your technique while exploring historic wrecks, vertical walls, and deep bottoms that make Malta one of the best advanced diving destinations in the Mediterranean.

Upon completion of the course and with a minimum of 24 logged dives, you will obtain the SSI AOWD certification, valid worldwide for diving up to 40 meters deep.

What is the Advanced Open Water?

The Advanced Open Water Diver is the next step after obtaining your Open Water certification and is designed to perfect your technique, gain confidence, and expand your limits as a diver.

During the 2 days of training, you will complete 5 specialty dives in the sea, where you will work on deep diving, improve your underwater navigation, and optimize your buoyancy control.

The course combines online theoretical training (e-learning) with real practice at sea, always accompanied by certified SSI instructors.

Doubts and questions

The Open Water Diver certification is the initial certification that allows you to dive up to 18 meters. The Advanced Open Water Diver is the next level and enables you to dive up to 40 meters, perform more technical dives, and access specialties such as deep diving or wreck diving.

Yes! You can start the course immediately after obtaining your Open Water certification. Many divers take advantage of their stay in Malta to advance their level and gain experience in real environments.

Not necessarily to start the course, but you must have a minimum of 24 logged dives to obtain the Advanced Open Water Diver SSI certification.

During the Deep Dive specialty, you can reach up to 40 meters, always under the supervision of your instructor and following SSI standards.

Bring a towel, water, swimsuit, and dry clothes for after the dives. We travel to the dive sites, and it is not allowed to board the vehicles with wet clothes.

Safety is a priority. If sea conditions do not allow the dives to take place, the course will be rescheduled, or a suitable alternative will be offered.

If the course cannot be carried out due to weather conditions or safety reasons, rescheduling or an alternative solution is offered. For cancellations by the client, it is recommended to consult the conditions at the time of booking.
